Crime Stoppers is a community program that was formed to help police departments capture criminals. The program allows concerned citizens to anonymously provide tips to local law enforcement. If that tip leads to an arrest and charges, the tipster may receive a cash reward.

Our chapter is comprised of community business members and citizens as well as at least one law enforcement representative from each participating municipality. The board of directors, who make reward determinations and take care of the day-to-day business of the organization, is comprised of two non-law enforcement members from each community.

Does Crime Stoppers really help my community?

YES! While the Southern Milwaukee County Crime Stoppers (SMCCS) serves the communities of Cudahy, Franklin, Greendale, Greenfield, Hales corners, St. Francis and South Milwaukee, there are chapters throughout the state of Wisconsin, the U.S. and the world. Together, there are over 500 communities involved in the program, and their overall conviction rate is 98%!

What crimes should I report?

You should call when you have seen a crime committed or if you have any information about a crime. Watch for suspicious activity around your neighborhood, at schools, or anywhere in the community and then report it.
All you have to do is call - anytime, day or night - 24 hours a day:
866-373-6227

Do I have to identify myself?

NO! You will never be asked for your name. When you call Crime Stoppers, you will be given a secret number that you will use for all further contacts. You will be asked to call back after your tip has been verified and will be told if you qualify for a cash reward. if you have, arrangements will be made to pay you your reward, in cash. Remember, you will only be identified by your secret code number.

Where does the money for rewards come from?

Crime Stoppers is a nonprofit organization that is funded primarily by donations of money, goods or services from community members, business and service organizations. If you would like to help, please mail your contribution to:
