GREENFIELD WOMAN KILLED IN CRASH
A 74 year old Greenfield woman was killed this afternoon when her car slammed into a stopped dump truck at South 108th Street (Highway 100) and West Coldspring. Both vehicles were northbound on Highway 100.
Witnesses reported that the woman did not slow down or apply her brakes as she approached the dump truck, which was coming to a stop for the red signal
at Coldspring Road. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Witnesses also said the dump truck’s brake lights were working properly.
The 55 year old Milwaukee man who was operating the dump truck was not injured.
Crash investigators are still on the scene reconstructing the accident. At this time, it does not appear that there were any mechanical defects related
to the truck which would have contributed to the crash however, Greenfield Police have requested assistance from the Wisconsin State Patrol to inspect the dump truck to insure all equipment was in working order.
We will not be releasing the name of the deceased or her vehicle description pending notification of relatives.
