Greenfield Police Investigating a Bicyclist Struck Hit and Run
12 year old Milwaukee boy struck by a hit and run driver
Greenfield, WI, Tuesday September 9, 2008 – Greenfield police are investigating a bicyclist struck hit and run crash that occurred at approximately 8:12PM at the intersection of S. 27th St.and W.
Howard avenue.
The bicyclist, a 12 year old Milwaukee boy was crossing S. 27th St. westbound in the crosswalk at W Howard Ave. when he was struck by a vehicle traveling southbound on S 27th ST. After striking the boy the vehicle fled the scene. The boy sustained blunt force trauma injuries and was transported to Childrens hospital where he is in critical condition.
According to witnesses the striking vehicle is described as a red 1993-1995 red Plymouth van and should have sustained front end damage. Witnesses further stated that the striking vehicle
had been traveling SB on S. 27th St when it ran a red light at W. Howard Ave. and struck the bicyclist.
An Oak Creek Fire Department paramedic unit, returning from St. Luke’s hospital came upon the critically injured boy, administered advanced life support and immediately transported
him to Children’s Hospital.
The investigation continues, the Greenfield Police Department asks that anyone with any information regarding the striking vehicle to contact the Greenfield Police department at
